Don't Worry About the Government"。"Don't Worry About the Government"は、Talking Heads の アルバム"Talking Heads : 77"(1977年)からの一曲。
”Talking Heads ”The Band & Their Music by David Gans"は、俺の書棚にあるTalking Heads関連の一冊。
その ”Talking Heads ”The Band & Their Music by David Gans"でDavid Byrneは"Don't Worry About the Government"について次のように語っている。
Byrne: In rock, the normal point of view is exaggerated individuality---which is perfectly valid---but I thought it was more of a challenge to offer an opposing view... the Chinese idea that uniformity and restriction don't have to be debilitating and degrading. I found that attractive.
The easy way would be hating the govenment, hating people's ordinary lives. I thought that was too pat and wrote a song that was sympathetic to people who live in the suburbs or in high rises and work in offices... That song was really intended to be in praise of appliances...
I think my voice at that time wasn't quite up to it. My voice gave an edge to it that wasn't quite what I was trying to say. I wanted it to sound sincere and genuine and sympathetic, and I think it sounds like I was being ironic.

More Songs About Buildings and Food"に収められた"The Big Country"という唄の箇所で、 "Don't Worry About the Government"について次のように語っている。
Byrne: "Don't Worry About the Government" [on 77] is about liking ordinary things, living in a modern condominium and working in an office. I wrote "The Big Country" about hating that kind of stuff. I thought I had to be fair. [Laughs]
(p.61 "Talking Heads" by Dagid Gans)
Don't Worry About the Government"を歌っている。
Don't worry about me"は登場しても、題名の"Don't Worry About the Government"は歌詞には登場しない。
