西大門刑務所を訪れる

　西大門（ソデムン）刑務所歴史館*1は、1910年から1945年にかけての日本の植民地支配に対して、独立を求めて闘った人たちの苦難を現代に伝える場所になっている。３・１独立運動で有名な柳 寛順（ユ ガンスン）もこの西大門刑務所で亡くなった。
　入り口の門、監視塔、獄舎など、もともとの施設が公開されている。
　館内では清掃のボランティアをしている学生たちがたくさんいた。
　西大門刑務所見学後、昼食を大衆的な広蔵食堂で食べて、4時間のツアーを終えた。
